I made BBQ chicken last week and I have never seen the kids eat it so fast. Enzo had three thighs and would have eaten more. Kira even enjoyed it. It was a home run! This recipe is a double batch, so make and freeze half for later. It is not spicy by any means, that is why my kids finally ate BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
1 c onion chopped finely
4 cloves of garlic minced/pressed
12 oz. tomato paste
1 1/2 c apple juice
2T Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 c Brown sugar
1T Soy sauce
2 T olive oil
In a large saute pan add oil. Add garlic and onions to hot oil. Cook until transparent. Add tomato paste stirring well. Add the rest of the ingredients making sure to mix well. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 20-30 minutes until desired thickness.
Add any spice you want for heat, cayenne pepper, jalapeno etc.
